Garage door sensors are part of an automatic door opener. Since 1993, as specified in Underwriters Laboratories Specification UL325, all garage door openers are required to have a security mechanism for the door back, if something gets in the way they are. For example, a child runs to beat the door closing or simply a child crushed by the door when it is closed accidentally quit, and they are in their own way.
Garage door safety sensors used for this purposeon each side of the door, installed six inches or less from the floor. Among these sensors is an invisible beam that extends the entire width of the garage. If something breaks the beam of light, the door will automatically stop and reverse the door in the open position.
It is often advisable to check the sensors to ensure that they are in order. Of course, if it is aligned, the door will not begin to close. But if you are just dirty, these securityMechanism may work temporarily.
Align the sensor is easy. They merely seek each other out. Each sensor has one or two colored lights. Most of the sensors with a light red or green to work with a door opener in the head or a genius. Sensors with two lights, mostly green and yellow with Chamberlain garage door open. Two sensors on lights, one of them shows the force sensor. The other light indicates whether the sensor is aligned. Lights must be switchedon both sensors. This is the way of knowing that they are aligned properly.
